Nomsa Daniels is the CEO of Blue Zebra Projects (Pty) Ltd, a South African company that works with innovative social enterprises that are solving some of Africa’s biggest challenges in education, agriculture and food processing, nutrition, and clean technology to help them expand into new markets, raise capital and amplify their impact.
She has worked in the private sector for over 20 years, investing in start-ups and early-stage businesses and currently advises a pan-African investment company on growing its impact investment portfolio across a range of sectors.
Nomsa also has extensive experience in the development/NGO sector, having served as CEO of the Graça Machel Trust, where she led a team of program specialists who drove the Trust’s work in Women’s Economic Advancement, Children’s Rights, and Nutrition across Africa, with a focus on advocacy, research, network building and fundraising. This position saw her to operating at national, regional and global levels to amplify the Trust’s work.
Nomsa currently serves on the boards of several investee companies, NGO boards such as Edulution Learning South Africa NPC, and is a Member of the International Advisory Council of APCO Worldwide, a global advisory and advocacy communications company with offices in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
She has a Master’s Degree in Geography and Environmental Studies from the City University of New York, Hunter College, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Toronto.
