Tastings Featured at Food Around the World at Heifer Village
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (June 15, 2011) Join Heifer Village for a free family day filled with activities for children and grownups alike and four food tasting stations where you can sample dishes from around the world. Heifer International invites you to Food Around the World, at Heifer Village in downtown Little Rock on Saturday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Youve heard the old saying You are what you eat. Now you can see exactly what people eat from Albania to Zambia at Food Around the World. This free program will show you how your meals compare with the meals eaten by families in different parts of the world. Youll also learn how where you live can determine how much food youll have to eat. Discover the healthiest foods for your body and find out where to buy local produce in the Little Rock area.
Food tastings include international dishes like, ghapama, mixed green casserole, and blackbean salsa. Other activities include free photos with our animal guests from Heifer Ranch, a chance to milk the cow from the Arkansas Farm Bureau, a childrens recipe passport book to gather recipes to create meals from various countries, and activities with take home crafts for the family.
Radio Disneys Rockin Road Show will be on-site from eleven to noon with the latest music, fun games and giveaways, and drummer Zinse Aginne along with the Hope Drum Ballet will perform from 1:30 to 2:00 PM.
Big kids and little kids alike will enjoy a Saturday filled with fun and exploration at Heifer Village. Food Around the World is a free event and reservations are not required. The event takes place at Heifer Village at 1 World Avenue, Little Rock, Ark. 72202.
