LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas – Heifer International proudly presents its first-ever global marketplace, featuring a variety of eco-friendly gifts that support the mission to end hunger and poverty. The gifts – available for a limited time – help tell the story of the farmers and artisans who made them in Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico and Nepal.
One of the most popular items is dark chocolate sea salt caramels with just the right balance of savory and sweet flavor. The cocoa is sourced by Blommer Chocolate from small farms in the Carrizal Chone Valley in west-central Ecuador. Blommer and Heifer are working to help create viable livelihoods for the farmers, with better access to nutrition, schools, agricultural training and other things essential for a more sustainable cocoa industry.
Other items featured are Nepalese cotton and silk scarves, handcrafted silver cuffs from Mexico and single-origin La Promesa Guatemalan coffee.
A portion of each purchase any of these gifts helps to increase income for farmers, foster women’s empowerment and provide nutrition and food security to families in Heifer’s projects worldwide.
