Online Workshops to Help Teachers Implement Read to Feed® in Their Classrooms

Teachers can go online to learn how to effectively implement Heifer International’s Read to Feed® program and connect with other teachers engaging in the program through new online workshops with from October 21, 2013, to February 10, 2014.
Teachers can learn how to effectively implement Heifer International’s Read to Feed® program and connect with other teachers using the resources through new online workshops from October 21, 2013, to February 10, 2014.

The first two sessions will feature Page Mcbrier, famed author of “Beatrice’s Goat,” “Once There Was and Was Not,” “Winter in Songming”and “The Chicken and the Worm,” all featuring Heifer International projects and families. They will take place on October 21 at 4:30 p.m. ET and 7:30 p.m. ET.

The workshops will be interactive and informative, using Blackboard Collaborate to provide a classroom-style online learning environment. Topics include Storytelling that Matters, Common Core and Global Education, Expert Roundtable and The Nuts and Bolts of Becoming Changemakers.

“These workshops will provide support and ideas to help educators implement their Read to Feed programs,” said Tim Newman, director of education program development at Heifer International. “We want educators to have the opportunity to come together as a community committed to preparing global citizens who will make a difference in our world."
